KCCA confirmed the loan deal on their social media platforms, stating that they have a clause allowing them to recall Kagawa after the first round of the season if needed for squad integration.

Known for his versatility as a right wing-back and midfielder, Kagawa’s playing time was limited to 17 league appearances last season during KCCA’s title push with Vipers SC. Finishing second behind the St Mary’s Kitende based side, KCCA sees the loan as an opportunity for Kagawa’s continued development.

Joining Wakiso Giants, Kagawa will reunite with head coach John Luyinda ‘Ayala,’ whom he previously worked with at SC Villa.

With the start date of the 2023-2024 Uganda Premier League season yet to be confirmed, Wakiso Giants aims to elevate their standing, and the addition of Kagawa is expected to make a major impact on their performance.
