KCCA FC Earns Direct Entry to CAF Confederation Cup Second Preliminary Round

KCCA FC, the thirteen-time Startimes Uganda Premier League champions, have received a major boost with a direct qualification to the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Based on their impressive CAF club ranking coefficient, the Kasasiro Boys were exempted from the first-round draws of the tournament. They stood as the fourth best-ranked club from the Central, North, and East African region, which allowed them to skip the initial phase.

As runners-up in the league last season, KCCA FC will now face the winner of the tie between Libya’s Abo Selim and Tunisia’s Olympic de Beja from North Africa. The latter will host the first-round fixture.

The potential matches against KCCA’s opponents are scheduled for August 20th-22nd and August 27th-29th for the first and second leg, respectively.

Should KCCA Football Club emerge victorious, they will then compete against the winning club in the first phase on September 17th-19th at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende, their designated home ground. The second encounter is set for September 29th-October 1st.

Successfully navigating through these matches will secure KCCA FC a place in the group stages of the esteemed CAF Confederation Cup.
