Vipers SC and their Captain Milton Karisa dominate the Pilsner Awards.

Milton Karisa, the captain and standout forward for defending champions Vipers Sports Club was named the Pilsner Star Times Uganda Premier League Player of the 2022-2023 Season.

Karisa managed to beat SC Villa’s Charles Bbaale and Maroons FC goalie Simon Tamale to the glorious prize of the recently concluded season.

At the glitzy awards ceremony held on Thursday night at the Sheraton Hotel in  Kololo, the forward repeated his success by placing third in three more prizes.

The Vipers talented right winger won the Most Assists (8) which were very influential in helping the Venoms win the Uganda premier league title, he added the Coaches Player of the Season award, in addition to being included on the SUPL’s Season Best XI.

In other awards, Vipers SC continued to grab the show as their manager Alex Isabirye was named the best coach of the season. Isabirye beat Mohammed Ssenfuma of Maroons FC and Jackson Magera of SC Villa.

The other Vipers SC player who stepped on the podium twice is the defender, Hillary Mukundane, he was voted the best defender of the season and appeared on the best XI.

Away from Vipers SC, with 13 clean sheets, former Maroons FC goalie Tamale Simon won the season’s top goalkeeper award against URA’s Alionzi and Ssekajja.

By scoring 13 goals in the league, Allan Kayiwa won the Top Goalscorers award over Charles Bbaale of SC Villa.

The Midfielder of the Season award was given to Busoga United’s Tibita Laban while the Young Player of the Season award was won by Darius Ojok.

The Players Player of the Season went to Charles Bbaale while the Platinum award was given to Andrew Fimbo Mukasa.

Blacks Power FC, who were demoted, received the Fair Play Award for their excellent behavior throughout the previous season, during which they only received 30 yellow cards and no red ones.
