CAF confirm the joint submission of Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania’s request to host 2027 AFCON

The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has officially confirmed a request from three East African countries to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

In an attempt to bring the glorious African Cup Tournament at the land of the East African Community land for the first time, the three countries believe that 2027 is their chance to fulfill this dream.

However, they will face still competition from three other independent countries who have also successfully submitted their bid vying for the same opportunity to host AFCON.

Egypt, Algeria and Botswana are three countries ready to rival the East African Community based countries.

“CAF has received the declaration of interest from six countries in the bidding process to select the host nation for the Africa Cup of Nations 2027,” CAF confirmed through their social media handles.

The statement added, “At the expiry of the deadline set by the administration, CAF recorded four bids from six countries and they have been given up to May 23 to submit their final bids with all the bidding and hosting documents exclusive”.

The Confederation of African Football Association will then send their team for inspections between June 1st and July 15th before the executive committee makes the final decision.
