Coach Alex Isabirye has guided Vipers SC to a penalty shoot-out win against Wakiso Giants in the Stanbic Uganda Cup at Kabaka Kyabaggu Sports Stadium.

The hosts where the first to find the back of the net through their star studied striker Shariph Kimbowa after a beautiful chip from talented midfielder Marvin Nyanzi in the 48th minutes.

After a 1:1  90-minutes stalemate, Fabien Mutombola managed to punch away Norman Ojik’s penalty while Tom Masiko also hit the post which secured a 4-3 penalty victory for Vipers to advance to the next round.

Regardless of the qualification, Vipers remain winless in normal time for the  8th successive time and will be hoping to stop that embarrassing run in their next fixture.

Coach Alex Isabirye will be glad that he avoided a poor start to life at the St Mary’s Kitende-based club after being appointed 72 hours ago.

Vipers will be hosting Raja Casablanca on Saturday 18th , March 2022 in the CAF Champions league and will be looking forward to registering  their first win in the tournament, having lost three of  their first two games and drawing one.

Any result that is contrary to a win  will see the Venoms pushed out of the glorious African club tournament.
